How We Pay for Our Activities and Accomplishments

Proudly, 100% of all donations go directly to support the mission and goals of the Foundation. The staff is composed of volunteers, brought to this cause because inflammatory breast cancer has touched their lives in some way. The Foundation has no corporate sponsors and receives no grants; we rely solely on many small, tax-deductible voluntary donations to pursue our commitment to finding the causes of IBC.

There have been ad hoc fundraising events on behalf of the IBC Research Foundation undertaken around the country by impassioned volunteers. These have included running the Boston Marathon, a baseball game between teen-agers and disc jockeys of a local popular radio station, garage sales, making and selling handcrafts such as jewelry or artwork, and the organized donations of family, friends, and co-workers in memory of an IBC patient who has lost her battle.

This is a grassroots effort led and supported by those affected by IBC and their families and friends.

  • 85% of our funds are received as donations “in memory of,” usually from friends and family members of a deceased IBC patient. Please consider designating the IBC Research Foundation to receive memorials in the name of your loved one; see our donations page for additional information.
  • What better way to honor a loved one engaged in treatment for IBC, or now NED (completed treatment and “no evidence of disease”), or to celebrate an anniversary, than to make a donation “in honor of” Please visit our donations page.
