Help Raise Public Awareness of IBC
We at the IBC Research Foundation know firsthand the urgency to inform not only the general public but also the health professionals to whom we turn for initial diagnosis and then treatment. Imagine the horror of hearing that you or a loved one not only has breast cancer but also this breast cancer is the most aggressive and most accelerating. Imagine hearing that survival statistics pale in comparison to those for other types of breast cancer with very high chances of recurrence. Until diagnosed most have likely never heard of Inflammatory Breast Cancer, IBC. Please help us get the word out to raise public and medical awareness of IBC.
Education begins with IBC Research Foundation Awareness Team Membership
Members of the IBC Research Foundation’s A-Team email list share ideas about how to get word out about IBC. The IBC Research Foundation A-Team members brainstorm and share ideas about what works and has worked while continuing to welcome new volunteers who offer fresh ideas. As educators of the symptoms and gravity of Inflammatory Breast Cancer, we take advantage of every opportunity to speak to groups and individuals, send out correspondence, and stay up-to-date on relevant topics of interest to the IBC community. By being well-informed and current concerning clinical research results that influence the methods of diagnosis, treatment, and continuing research, we can speak with a stronger voice about IBC and related issues. Many A-Team members have been amazed to see the impact of their passion to educate others about IBC, even those who never thought they could address a group of strangers!
Members of the A-Team are alerted to local and national media concerning Inflammatory Breast Cancer. Newspaper and magazine articles as well as to radio and television interviews, breast cancer and women’s health websites are our friends and our targets. When an article or interview is identified as having IBC information, we respond to each author, station or media person to ensure their work is applauded. We stress that with their article, story or interview that they have possibly saved a life by educating their subscribers about this breast cancer, IBC. Each of us affected by IBC has a story to tell. The more effectively and frequently we tell it, the more rapidly the IBC education will come to pass. So, get on your keyboard, pull out your pen and paper, or dial your local television, radio and newspaper friends. They WILL listen. They are waiting to hear from you.

The IBC Research Foundation offers several items to assist you in your educational campaign with the proceeds from these purchases go directly to funding the IBC Research Foundation. With the use of these items, you will be amazed by the questions you silently elicit from the general public. The more you are OUT THERE, the more people you can touch with your passion to educate and thus increase the awareness of IBC.
