What follows are inspiring examples of fundraising events or activities that individuals have undertaken on their own, often with the help of friends and family, to support the advocacy, awareness, and/or research goals of the IBC Research Foundation.
- Thomas Bigoski organized the First Annual IBC Bowling Event in honor of his mother, Julie. Held in August of 2004, the event was a huge success, raising $9200 for the IBC Research Foundation.
- Elizabeth Corcoran’s Invitation and RSVP to attend her October 2, 2003 “Seminar on All Forms of Breast Cancer” has led to over $54,000 contributed to the IBC Research Foundation, with many matching corporate gifts to follow. - Jana McDonald and her mother do annual raffles of baskets, sometimes known as a tricky tray raffle. View the 2006 IBC Raffle Flyer that Jana sent to her family and friends for them to possibly win a lovely basket of goodies.
- Alison Dodd trained and successfully complete the Marine Corps Marathon on October 26, 2003 in Washington, D.C. Alison obtained pledges for her performance in honor of her mother, Judy Dodd, with the proceeds of almost $13,000 donated to the IBC Research Foundation. - Nancy Gruici made beaded jewelry for her own well-being and to benefit the IBC Research Foundation.
- Marni Salacuse made IBC Angel pins and IBC Angel used for decorations including Christmas tree ornaments.

The 2001 Patrice Gerdts Angel in the Outfield Softball Game — East Windsor, New Jersey Newspaper Article- 2002, the Patrice Gerdts Angel in the Outfield Softball Game. This was the 2nd Annual Patrice Gerdts Angel in the Outfield Softball Game.
- Tracy Keller spoke of her friend Shawn Hupp, who died of IBC in February 2003, which was followed by an auction raising $10,165!
- Debra Gehm, sister-in-law of Betty Ann Gehm who died of IBC, organized a successful golf outing in August 2002. See the invitation to the golf outing, which raised $7,460.86!
- Kim Haas organized an online Tupperware party in December 2002, and she and her mother, Jan, made a presentation about IBC to the Gresham (Oregon) Soroptomist Society who were kind enough to contribute to the IBC Research Foundation as a way of saying “thank you.”
