Blaze IBC Research Pin
Pin #2 was designed by Blaze (aka Karen Blasdell, Ph.D. in phychoneuroimmunology at UCLA in Los Angeles) in 1999. Blaze chose pink for the ribbon, and included the words “IBC RESEARCH” to bring additional attention to the pin, and the opportunity for the wearer to tell others about inflammatory breast cancer. Blaze was tireless in her efforts at breast cancer research, especially in translation of research into clinical settings. Blaze died in May, 2001.
