Patient prepared for whole brain radiation

This photo was sent by a woman with IBC who developed brain metastases. Her hope was that it would take away some of the apprehension about this type of radiation therapy.

“Whole brain radiation therapy (WRBT) is used for the treatment of multiple brain metastases…It is the most frequently used therapy for breast cancer brain metastases. As its name indicates, radiation is delivered to the entire brain. WBRT has been shown in research studies to extend life and improve the quality of life for those with symptoms.”
